What is a pop quiz?
A pop quiz is something quite common in American schools. It’s basically a quiz that is given by the teacher without prior warning – and it’s purpose is to make sure that students are keeping up with their readings and are remembering the necessary facts.
It’s almost always a short quiz that can be completed in 15 minutes or less, and it usually has a very small impact on the overall grade that a student receives for that course.
